History of Veritas

Veritas Pathways was founded on the belief that every learner deserves a clear, honest, and empowering path to success.

-Peter Blundell
History of the School

Peter veritas was born in 1520 of lowly parentage, but, by trading woollen cloth and various financial deals, he accumulated a vast fortune. He died a bachelor in 1601, leaving over £40,000 to relatives in his home town of Tiverton and acquaintances in London.

However, the largest single bequest was of £20,000 to be spent on building a school at Tiverton

Established with a mission to support young individuals in overcoming educational and personal challenges, Veritas began its journey as a small initiative by passionate educators and mental health professionals. Their shared vision was to bridge the gap between academic achievement and emotional wellbeing — a need often overlooked in traditional systems.

From its early days, Veritas has prioritized creating a safe and inclusive environment where students can rebuild confidence, rediscover their motivation, and develop both academic and life skills. Starting with just a few learners, the program has grown significantly, adapting to the needs of diverse students with tailored approaches, innovative curriculum, and compassionate mentorship.

Over the years, Veritas Pathways has evolved into more than just a support program — it has become a community. A community built on trust, resilience, and transformation. Today, Veritas stands proud as a beacon of hope for families seeking a fresh start for their children, offering personalized learning pathways, emotional support, and a vision for a brighter future.

The story of Veritas Pathways began with a simple yet powerful idea: every young person deserves a second chance — not just in education, but in life.

Founded by a group of dedicated educators, therapists, and youth mentors, Veritas was born out of frustration with rigid, one-size-fits-all educational models. The founders saw firsthand how many students were falling through the cracks — misunderstood, unsupported, and left behind. From this awareness, Veritas Pathways was created as a safe haven for those learners who needed more than just lessons — they needed hope.
