University of Dundee
The University of Dundee is a compact, city-centre campus on Scotland's east coast, known for combining excellent teaching with a supportive global community. It was founded in 1881 as University College Dundee and spent around seven decades within the University of St Andrews before becoming independent by royal charter in 1967. Its courses are informed by research and taught by academics who are experts in their fields.
The campus brings together a library, teaching spaces, the Students' Union, accommodation and a gym, all close to the city's train and bus stations, shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. Dundee Airport has direct flights to London Heathrow, while Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are just over an hour away. The university highlights Dundee as more affordable than other UK cities to live in, and notes that bus travel in Scotland is free for under-22s.
